DaBoyZ05  > Nature > Pali Lookout to Lanikai (05/31/09)
Aloha,
On Sunday DaBoyZ drove (thanks to Judy) to the Pali Lookout for some spectacular views! After a few pictures we jumped back into the car and heading down to the next view turnout for a few more shots. We then headed to Lanikai for a quick dip in the beautiful ocean. When we were all pau (finished) we made a quick stop in Kailua at one of our fave places to eat, Peppers! On the way back to Honolulu we stopped at the view turnout on that side of the Pali. Hope you enjoy the shots.

DaBoyZ05 > The Nu'uanu Pali has been a vital pass for ancient Hawaii to the present because it is a low, traversable section of the Ko'olau moutain Range that connects the Leeward side of the island, Honolulu to the Windward side, Kailua and Kane'ohe.
DaBoyZ05 > The route drew settlers who formed villages in the area and populated Nu'uanu Valley for a thousand years.
DaBoyZ05 > The Nu'uanu Pali was the site of the Battle of Nu'uanu, one of the bloodiest battles in Hawaiian history, in which Kamehameha I conquered the island of O'ahu, bringing it under his rule.
